The Handunkudama is confronted to the devotee proceeding to sitting hall from the lower floor.
The structure is decorated with wood carvings. Its walls and ceiling are beautified with paintings.
In accordance with customs of Dalada Maligawa, a number of names are used to identify
various places of Handunkudama. All these names indicate the bond that existed between the
King and the sacred Tooth relic.
