“Koppara” (dried up split coconuts) to light up the procession was donated by Sri Lanka Army. The Army Commander Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage handed over a tray of “Koppara” today (July 29) to mark this donation. Accordingly, the army will donate about 15 tons of “Koppara” to light up the entire procession. For the past few years continuously, Sri- Lanka Army donated the required amount of “Koppara” for the procession.

කන්ද උඩරට ඇසළ පෙරහර මහා මංගල්ලය ආලෝකවත් කරන්නට ශ්‍රී ලංකා යුද්ධ හමුදාවෙන් මෙවරත් කොප්පරා පරිත්‍යාග කරනු ලැබුවා. ශ්‍රී ලංකා යුද්ධ හමුදාධිපති ලුතිනන් ජෙනරල් විකුම් ලියනගේ මහතා විසින් ශ්‍රී දළදා මාලිගාවේ දී අද (ජූලි 29) පෙරවරුවේ එය සංකේතාත්මකව පිළිගන්වනු ලැබුවා. ශ්‍රී දළදා මාලිගාවේ පෙරහර කොප්පරා පන්දම් වලින් ආලෝකවත් කිරීම සදහා අවශ්‍ය සම්පූර්ණ කොප්පරා, ටොන් පහළොවක අධික ප්‍රමාණයක් ශ්‍රී ලංකා යුද්ධ හමුදාව විසින් ඒ අනුව ලබාදෙනු ලැබේ. වසර කිහිපයක සිට පෙරහර මංගල්ලයට අවශ්‍ය කොප්පරා ශ්‍රී දළදා මාලිගාවට පරිත්‍යාග කරනු ලබන්නේ ශ්‍රී ලංකා යුද්ධ හමුදාවේ බැතිබර දායකත්වයෙනී.
