This beautiful plateau situated between the Mahaweli river and the Nillambe stream is an important location of the Kandyan era. The Devalaya located amidst a paddy field was built during the Gampola era. The complete Devala complex is inclusive of Dikgeya, Antharalaya, Garbha Vimanaya, Atuwa, kitchen, and a Palle Devalaya. It’s believed that the golden head ornament & the jewelry box belonging to King Kirthi Sri Rajasinghe was offered to this temple.
