The 159th anniversary of his great service to the Sinhalese nation is today (Sep. 17). This was celebrated in a very simple ceremony in front of the statue of Srimath Anagarika Dharmapala in the Dalada Maligawa premises today morning under the leadership of the honorable Maha Sangha.

බුදු දහම – ජාතිය උදෙසා මහානීය යුග මෙහෙයක් ඉටු කළ ශ්‍රීමත් අනගාරික ධර්මපාල මැතිතුමාගේ 159 වෙනි ගුණ සැමරුම අද (සැප්. 17) දින‍ට යෙදී තිබේ. ඒ වෙනුවෙන් වන ශ්‍රී දළදා මාලිගාවේ ගුණ සැමරුම, පරිශ්‍රයේ පිහිටි ශ්‍රීමත් අනගාරික ධර්මපාල පිළිරුව අභියස අද පෙරවරුවේ ගරුතර මහා සංඝරත්නයේ මූලිකත්වයෙන් චාම් අභිමානවත් අයුරින් පැවැත්වුණි.
