නිර්මල බුදු දහමේ ඇති හරය අරුත් ගන්වමින්, එහි සාමය සංකේතවත් කර දහස් ගණනක් දුර ගෙවා යන Walk for Peace ගෝලීය සාම පාද යාත්රාව 2026 අප්රේල් මස 22 වන දින ඓතිහාසික රංගිරි දඹුලු රජමහා විහාරයෙන් ආරම්භ විය. ඒ, ඇමරිකාවේ සිට වැඩම කළ වියට්නාම ජාතික පූජ්ය පඤ්ඤාකර හිමියන් ප්රමුඛ මහා සංඝරත්නය හා අලෝකා ද සහභාගීත්වයෙන් ය. මෙම සාම පාගමනේ ආරම්භක දිනයේ ගමනාන්තය වන්නේ මාතලේ ඓතිහාසික අලුවිහාරයයි. හෙට දින එනම් 2026 අප්රේල් 23 වන දින මෙම සාම පාද යාත්රාව ඓතිහාසික සෙංකඩගල පුරවරයට ලඟා වන අතර, සවස 6.30ට පූජ්ය පඤ්ඤාකර හිමියන් ප්රමුඛ මහා සංඝරත්නය උතුම් දළදා සමිඳුන් වැඳපුදා ගැනීමට නියමිතයි. අනතුරුව උන් වහන්සේලා රැය පහන් කරනු ලබන්නේ ශ්රී දළදා මාලිගාව පරිශ්රයේ දී ය.
The Walk for Peace global peace walk, aimed at spreading harmony while traveling thousands of miles and embodying the true essence of pure Buddhism, commenced on 22nd April 2026 from the historic Rangiri Dambulla Rajamaha Viharaya. The Maha Sangha, led by Venerable Pannakara Thero of Vietnam, who arrived from the United States, along with Aloka, are participating in this.
The first day’s journey will conclude at the historic Aluvihara Temple in Matale. Tomorrow (23rd April 2026), the peace walk will reach the historic city of Senkadagala (Kandy), where the Maha Sangha, led by Venerable Pannakara Thero, is scheduled to pay homage to the Sacred Tooth Relic at 6:30 p.m.
Afterwards, the monks will stay at the Sri Dalada Maligawa premises at night.
