ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ 14වන අග්‍රාමාත්‍යවරයා ලෙස පත් වූ ගරු මහින්ද රාජපක්ෂ මහතා අද (12) මහනුවර ශ්‍රී දළදා මාලිගාවට පැමිණ දළදා සමිඳු වැඳපුදා ගනු ලැබුවා. අග්‍රාමාත්‍ය දූරයට පත්වීමෙන් පසුව, චාරිත්‍රානුකූලව මඟුල් බෙර සහ සක් හඬ මධ්‍යයේ ශ්‍රී දළදා මාලිගාව වෙත පැමිණි මහින්ද රාජපක්ෂ මහතා පිළිගනු ලැබුවේ ගරු දියවඩන නිලමේ ප්‍රදීප් නිලංග දෑල මහතා ඇතුළු සතර මහා දේවාලවල බස්නායක නිලමේවරුන් විසිනි. මේ අවස්ථාව සදහා අතිගරු ජනාධිපති ගෝඨාභය රාජපක්ෂ මැතිතුමා ද එක්විය. දළදා සමිඳු වැද පුදාගෙන ආශිර්වාද ලබාගත් අග්‍රාමාත්‍යවරයා අමුත්තනගේ සටහන් පොතේ විශේෂ සමරු සටහනක් තැබුවේ ‍පෞරාණික සිරිත් සම්මතයට ගරු කරමින්ය.

Hon Mahinda Rajapakse, The newly appointed 14th Prime Minister of Sri Lanka visited Sri Dalada Maligawa today (12th August). The prime minister who reached the temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic amidst the blowing of the conch shell and “Magul Bera” as per Sri Lankan traditional customs was greeted by the Diyawadana Nilame Pradeep Nilanga Dala and the Basnayake Nilames of sathara maha devala.
His Excellency the President Gotabaya Rajapaksa was also present on the occasion. After getting the blessings of the Sacred Tooth Relic the prime minister made a special entry in the visitor’s book.
