2026 වර්ෂයේ ඓතිහාසික කන්ද උඩරට ඇසළ පෙරහර මහා මංගල්ලය සහ ඒ හා බැඳුණු සාම්ප්රදායික චාරිත්ර විධි පැවැත්වෙන දින වකවානු පිළිබඳව මාධ්ය දැනුවත් කිරීමේ විශේෂ හමුවක් 2026 ජූලි 08 පස්වරුවේ ශ්රී දළදා මාලිගාවේ ශ්රවණාගාරයේ දී පැවැත්විණි.
ඒ අනුව, මෙවර කුඹල් පෙරහර මංගල්ලය අගෝස්තු මස 18 වෙනි දා සිට 22 වෙනි දා දක්වා ද, රන්දෝලි පෙරහර මංගල්ලය අගෝස්තු මස 23 වෙනි දා සිට 27 වෙනි දා දක්වා ද පැවැත්වීමට නියමිත ය. අනතුරුව අගෝස්තු 28 වන දින අලුයම දිය කැපීමේ චාරිත්රය සිදු කිරීමෙන් පසු, එදින දහවල් පෙරහර වීදි සංචාරය කිරීමෙන් මෙවර ඇසළ පෙරහර මංගල්ලය නිමාවට පත්වේ.

Dates Announced for the Historic Kandy Esala Perahera Festival 2026
A special media briefing to announce the schedule and traditional rituals of the historic 2026 Kandy Esala Perahera festival was held on 08th July 2026,afternoon at the auditorium of the Sri Dalada Maligawa.
Accordingly, the Kumbal Perahera festival is scheduled to be held from August 18 to 22, followed by the Randoli Perahera festival from August 23 to 27. This year’s Esala Perahera festival will conclude with the water-cutting ceremony (Diya Kepeema) in the early hours of August 28, followed by the Day Perahera parading the streets later that day.
The discussion was presided over by the Most Venerable Narampanawa Ananda Thera, Anunayake Thera of the Asgiri Maha Vihara Chapter of the Siam Maha Nikaya. Hon. Diyawadana Nilame of the Sri Dalada Maligawa, Basnayake Nilames, and several high-ranking officials from relevant government institutions were also present at the occasion.
