In conjunction with the celebration of Sri Lanka’s 78th Independence Day, a floral tribute was paid on the morning of 04 February, 2026 to the statue of D.S. Senanayake, located at the Mahamalwa of Sri Dalada Maligawa, Kandy.
Mr. D.S. Senanayake, who made an invaluable contribution to securing Sri Lanka’s independence, is revered as the ceylon’s first Prime Minister.
