All the servicemen in Sri Dalada Maligawa performed the traditional custom “Penum Gaman (Appearing before)” today (09/04/2014) at Diyawadana NIlame’s official quarters.
A special delegation from National Council of Bhutan headed by Chairman Sonam KInga arrived today (07th April 2014) at Sri Dalada Maligawa and made their offerings to the Sacred Tooth Relic. Afterwards the delegation paid a visit to the World Buddhist Museum.
Her Excellency the Ambassador for United States of America in Srilanka, Michele J. Sison visited Sri Dalada Maligawa today.
Her Excellency the Ambassador was met by Hon. Diyawadana Nilame, Pradeep Nilanga Dela and extended her good wishes for the upcoming Sinhala and Hindu New year.

In view of the Minigamuwa Ratanapala Nayake Theros appointment as a member of the subcommittee of Malwatta chapter, a meeting was held on 13th March 2014 to felicitate and Honor the Thero who is also the chief incumbent of the Gokarella Kekiri Henpitiya Ranmanda Pokuna Viharya and Palagala Pahalagama chamaragala ancient temple.
This meeting was represented by Most Venerable Thibbotuwawe Sri Siddhartha Maha Nayake Thero, the venerable monks, Honorable Tikiri Kobbekaduwa and other respectable lay people of the central province.

Tipitaka Chanting ceremony organized by the International Tipitaka organization will have the chanting this time at the historic audience hall of the Sri Dalada Maligawa, Kandy. Tipitaka chanting ceremony had been held in India on several occasions and this chanting is held in Sri lanka for the 3rd time.
His Royal Highness Sir Charles Philip Arthur George or the Prince Charles, for the first time in history, represents Her Majesty the Queen of Great Britain at the 22nd Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting
Prince Charles will operate as the Head of 53 countries Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting. This will make room to judge the role played by Her Majesty the Queen as the Head of the Commonwealth for continuity of Her responsibility in the future.
